Thanks Chris, I'm glad you were able to learn about what a frequency response is (and how it affects headphones).

To sum it up into a sentence, that's a pretty good way to put it, yes. :) For the average consumer, the more technical processes behind how that happens isn't as important as being aware of what it means.

Some people don't pay super close attention to the technical specs when they buy a new pair, but if you do - you'll probably be more satisfied with the end result.

Unfortunately, no I don't have an article detailing headphone impedance, but there will be one coming in the future!

I appreciate your input, it's good to hear that you were able to internalize the information here, I hope to see you here again!

Hey Dom! That’s a very impressive guide you’ve put together there. Thanks for the effort you put into this article. So, in a nutshell, “frequency response” basically means: “What frequency is my headphone able to emit?” Did I get that right? Do you also have a guide in place explaining impedance, as well?

It's definitely some useful information to have for the next time you're looking for a new pair of headphones. I'm glad you were able to learn about how a frequency response effects headphones (and more importantly, the actual audio playback).

It's hard to say what my favorite pair is since there are so many great headphones out there. My favorite as far as best bang for your buck would be the V-Moda Crossfade LP2. For a good Bluetooth headphone that's reasonably priced, pretty durable, and sounds good I'd say the Sennheiser HD 4.50.

This is a very informative blog post, I rarely use headphones and I had no idea what a frequency response was and how it affected headphones. I had no idea that using a headphone amp can boost the frequency response, this is great information to know. So what are your favorite pair of headphones?
